Art thinking in designing futures

LEE G1.01 Leeuwstraat 1, Ghent, Campus Arteveldehogeschool, Belgium

Art thinking (Withaker, 2016 &Robbins, 2018 & Bureau, 2019). is a method for thinking disruptively about certain problems. The focus here is not yet on the user or the person as such, but rather on the problem. It allows you to think freely without limitations. In later phases we combine this with design thinking where the user or citizen DOES come into the picture and we look at the opportunities and obstacles of a possible solution where people are central. In this lecture we will go over this method with concrete examples.

However, there are several trends and emerging technologies that will completely change the shopping experience in the coming years. You think of user interface, automation and digitalization, but sustainability and the rediscovery of tactile and physical social contacts also become important.
