In our vision, we see technology as the solution to our problems. We want to make a change in all sectors of society with new inventions. Improving the climate is a process that takes time. We believe that we are currently in a transition period and that by 2084 we can live in a city where people are better adapted to their climate. Cities will be able to prepare for the consequences of climate change through innovations.

The innovations will not only ensure good preparation, but will also hold back some of the changes in the hope that Ghent will survive and not be destroyed by the consequences of climate change. Subsequent inventions will help us achieve this goal.
A Greener City
There will be more greenery in the city, this can be done in different ways. More trees will simply be placed and redundant pavements will become grass squares. The trees purify the remaining CO2 and also provide shade, which will become necessary due to the rising temperatures caused by global warming. This way we can protect ourselves against high temperatures and keep the air clean. Ghent will generally look greener, from the squares to the roofs. With the help of AI, Artificial Intelligence, one can investigate where there is not enough greenery and nature in the city.
Solar powered transportation
Solar energy will be THE energy for transport in the future. Solar-powered cars, solar-powered tractors, etc. Electric transport is therefore the future, but it has the option to charge on the go, making petrol stations redundant and these places can be replaced by green zones. So cars will look futuristic. The design of the vehicles does not become larger, but rather focuses on efficiently using the layout of cars, etc. In this way, transport remains important, possible and has no effect on the climate.

Self-regulating agricultural umbrella organizations
The changed climate no longer affects agriculture. Conversely, agriculture will no longer affect the climate. In these self-regulating domes it can be decided when it will rain and the plants can therefore be watered. In these domes you can also choose the temperature yourself. Livestock farming will also take place under umbrellas. This way, the toxic substances released from the animals' feces do not end up in the air. The purification system in the dome purifies the air, ensuring that oxygen-rich air is always present.
Climate forecaster
The innovation that will best help with climate adaptation is our climate forecaster. This invention, in collaboration with AI, Artificial Intelligence, will be able to predict which weather, and therefore which natural disasters, will occur in the distant future. In this way, Ghent, but also other cities around the world, know when, for example, an earthquake is approaching them. This way, cities can take precautionary measures.

The role of Artificial Intelligence
AI plays a very important role in all these innovations. He collects and distributes all data to the climate forecaster. The control regarding watering and temperature in the self-regulating agricultural umbrella organizations is, in addition to the farmer, controlled by AI. AI is also used to make transport and the city of Ghent greener.


With these innovations it should certainly be possible to preserve the city of Ghent. Of course, we cannot completely reverse the previous damage caused by climate change, but we can prevent further damage. Most importantly, cities like Ghent and its residents adapt their learning using innovative technologies.
